A passionate and dedicated, multi-product designer specialising in womenswear and fashion print/graphics. Previous roles at Vivienne Tam, I.T Apparel, A.F. Vandevorst and Christian Dior coupled with creative training at Central Saint Martins, I am an experienced and all rounded designer. Duties covered a wide range of area within the business working directly with design director, Vivienne Tam designing multi-product for both the mainline and diffusion line in Jersey, Woven, Knitwear, Prints, Embellishments, Shoes, Bags and Accessories. I've solid experience in liaising directly with manufacturers and trade shows/factories visit for material sourcing. Furthermore, I possess a diverse experience given the opportunity to work extensively with other members at my previous companies in graphics and buying team to produce graphics and promotional materials for the brand. I especially enjoy collaborations as it allows me to learn from people from all kinds of backgrounds - I had the opportunity to head a team during London Fashion Week working with photographers, architects, set designers, show production team from London Fashion Scouts, Makeup artists from Kryolan UK team, Hair stylists from Tony&Guy, while producing our own creative work. Point Blank ._ is the multidisciplinary design collective headed by creative duo Yanyu Chung (myself) and Adrienne Lau, fashion designer and architectural designer. Previous collections from the pair have been more than just a fashion show, providing a three-dimensional experience for the viewers and the SS17 ‘Dive In’ collection was no different. This collection was inspired by the 1967 masterpiece by David Hockney, “The Bigger Splash”, and how objects and environments are distorted by water. Yangyu Chung and Adrienne Lau create their projects by clashing styles and aesthetics to produce original designs. - Trend research, forecast and trend analysing as well as print artworks, techpacks and spec sheets - Design multi-products in all fields: Woven, Jersey, Print & Accessories - Collaborations with artists/brands on licensed projects - Present collections to company CEO, Brand Director, buying and production team members and salespersons - Marketing & PR: Be in and out of studios, organizing photoshoots for lookbooks and product shots for each season. Be immersed in social networking events interacting with people from all kinds of background - Manage brand social networks - Direct liaison with manufacturers and factories - Factories visits from season to season - Keep track on the different stages of garments production, revise and suggest ways of improving each stage of prototypes to its best before putting the collection in production
- Produce mainline collection design ideas for NYC Fashion Weeks from abundant research process to realising ideas into actual garments/products in all fields: Print, Embroidery, Knitwear, Woven, Jersey, as well as Accessories, Shoes and Bags. - Main responsibility on diffusion line of the brand in terms of design direction, multi-product design and graphics. She’s also overviewing production from start to finish. - Shared responsibility to design Mainline collections - Design multi-products for the brand - Produce CAD drawings and Print artworks using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign - Present collections to brand director, buyers and sales team - Trade shows/fabric shows/factories visit for material sourcing and have solid experience in liaising with manufacturers and suppliers. - Design graphic materials and layouts for promotional matters for the company
Fashion Scout plays a major role in supporting the brand development of Point Blank. As an experimental collective, Fashion is a starting point for Point Blank and the journey goes beyond fashion. Fashion Scout understands and appreciates the multi-disciplinary nature of the collective and has offered support in areas not only in catwalk production but also in scenography, set production and films, facilitating the realization of Point Blank’s vision of presentation in London Fashion Week.
