Currently in the role of Marketing Manager at Sony Music, I have a strong and varied music marketing background, merging commercial label experience with independent venue and national promoter roles within the live entertainment sector. I have gained a wealth of valuable contacts and experience through each position, working directly with artists, artist management, agents, promoters, media agencies, promo teams and retail to create a cohesive marketing strategy for each release. This is combined with a strong interest and awareness of the changing digital media landscape, now at the forefront of the contemporary marketing mix. • Managing and coordinating all aspects of marketing campaigns for frontline artist and compilation projects, in line with commercial objectives and approved budgets. • Building and maintaining strong relationships with artist management, brand partners, internal departments, external agencies and suppliers – whilst ensuring a high level of creative excellence in campaign execution at all times, both for mass and niche markets. • Control and plan each release from conception to retail; including brand agreement, deal memo, tracklisting, artwork design, licensing, label copy, mastering, sales strategy, proofing and marketing plan / execution. • Working closely Production, Digital Operations, Retail, Business Affairs, Licensing and Accounts internally to ensure deadlines are upheld and each project is delivered with the highest possible attention to detail. • Utilising consumer insight and commercial and/or competitor research and data throughout campaign planning, followed by evaluation and analysis post-campaign. • Managing promotions teams, stakeholders and artist management on a regular basis to address concerns, manage expectations and maintain good working relationships. • Responsible for planning and execution of all digital marketing strategy – including social, display, pre-roll, search, re-targeting, asset creation and content ideas through an aligned multi-platform approach.
• Developing, managing and delivering complete strategic marketing campaigns across digital, social and CRM alongside traditional media including print, radio and TV. • Working internally with PR, social media and digital teams to ensure campaigns are accurately supported at all times. • Managing external relationships with agents, record labels, artist management and venues, alongside day-to-day contact with agencies and partners to both drive ticket sales and develop the company brand within a competitive marketplace. • Managing complex marketing budgets ranging up to £750,000. • Briefing media agencies, production houses and media partners on all creative assets and campaign planning. • Continually assessing and evolving common practices to ensure that all communications and brand marketing strategy follow an understanding of the audience and behavioral trends versus sales patterns. • Initiation of radio co-promotions across Bauer, Absolute and Global radio stations. • Continually creating engaging digital content and innovative use of social networking to supplement existing media spend including video/image content, remarketing channels and data capture initiatives. • Diversifying the promotional capabilities of the venue, enhancing marketing support for event promoters and acting as point-of-contact for press and PR. • A focus on market research alongside marketing campaign coordination and budget control. • Management of website, multimedia content, social media and 3rd party promotions. • Responsible for proofing and copywriting all promotional materials. • Maintaining a comprehensive press archive and regional press/media contacts. • Working with high profile events spanning across music, comedy, theatre and sports.
• Event booker, along with management and promotion of weekly club nights in a three-room venue with combined capacity of 1050. • Responsible for the on-site management of events, including coordination of door, security and stage management, along with acting point-of-contact for tour managers, sound technicians and all other freelance staff. • Coordinating larger profile events within the venue, including MTV Gonzo Tour(s), BBC Electric Proms, Chibuku & Circus club nights, and successive high-profile touring acts. • Maintaining an effective budgeting strategy across marketing and promotion. • Designing and distributing all event promotional materials via coordination of an extensive street team network and internship staff.
