- Bedroom Design - Self directed live project for a clientI did a bit of freelance designing for a client that had moved in to their first own home/flat and wanted to redecorate the room to suit their taste and style. The client wanted their room to feel more mature, but also stylish and sophisticated. They were on a tight budget and I had to reuse some of their existing furniture, however a new bed was needed, a fresh coat of paint and new wallpaper. It is a rented property, so we couldn't make any permanent changes to the space.

I was given the opportunity to do a week long internship with Blendworth Fabrics and Wallcoverings, working alongside their in-house designers. This was a fantastic experience for me as I got to see how things worked within the interior surface design industry, what it would be like to work for a renowned company such as Blendworth and to be a part of a design team. My jobs included documenting their design archives, creating inspiration boards and helping out in the design studio.
Runner Up Show Homes Competition

I was one of five students selected to present my show home designs to Linden Homes. My work consisted of both spatial and surface designs influenced by the botanical trend in 2015 and artist Rebecca Louise Law. I was awarded runner up for my designs. This was a fantastic opportunity for me to gain experience in presentation and live projects within the Interiors Industry.

BA (Hons) Interior Design Decoration

Interior Design Decoration degree (result still to be confirmed). This course has allowed me to gain invaluable experience in carrying out live industry-led projects through the entire 3 years of the degree. This course gave me opportunities for work experience within the industry, such as Blendworth and pitching designs to companies such as Southsea Deckchairs, Linden Homes and Southampton City Council. This course has let me learn, develop and practice skills in Photoshop, Vectorworks, Sketch Up, InDesign, Illustrator, Textile/Surface Design, Presentation, Interior Design, Photography, Interior Styling and hand drawing, as well as working individually using my initiative and to communicate as part of a team.
