About me
I'm currently working as a freelance writer / producer. I've spent the past fifteen years producing and directing content for both the commercial and cultural sector.
I spent five years working for Sky Arts as their full time in house producer and director. My main area of interest over that period was launching and managing the production of a series called Sky Arts At which was the umbrella brand for forty media partnerships that the channel did with UK arts organisations.
I managed, produced and directed films with a range of galleries, museums and organisations including the ENO, V&A, Northern Ballet in Leeds and both National Theatres in England and in Wales.
I worked with the marketing departments of each organisation as well as Sky's own corporate social responsibility team and channel commissioners/directors to deliver films that told engaging stories about the organisation and their brand as well as the behind-the-scenes creative process of staging a new opera, ballet, exhibition or performance. The work was about providing bespoke content for the organisation and their audiences as well Sky's linear broadcast and online platforms.
I'm well versed in delivering stories for TV broadcast but equally interested in other delivery methods. I've been working with a New York based digital company that market ebooks by producing high quality digital films. I have also spent the past few months producing multimedia guide content for the museum and heritage sector.
I tend to like to focus on the craft of making things, appreciating how an artist goes about producing work. At heart I'm a writer. I love to tell stories whether for a sixty second commercial, or an hour long documentary. I would like to try to find a writing mentor in the comedy production field who can advise me on developing some of the projects that I have.
I'm currently developing two sitcoms with a small digital production company as well as writing a novel and a screenplay.
