• iCovDuring my second year at Coventry University, I was a sub-editor for the university's news site, iCov. I ensured that the content was grammatically correct as well as ensuring the articles were strong journalistic pieces. Following on from this I also worked as a feature writer for the same site.
• Copy Editing for S.A SmithIn August 2015, I helped paranormal crime author S.A. Smith with her first manuscript. I both edited and proofread her novel and helped improve the overall content. Smith's novel is due for publication in October 2015.
• PR for Tappy TwinsI worked with West Midlands-based organisation, Tappy Twins, to improve their social media presence and to help them promote a significant event they were hosting. I also wrote and distributed press releases to a number of local media outlets, and generated some good coverage for them.

I first set up my freelance writing and editing company D. Burton Editing in the summer of 2014. As well as copy editing, I can write blog posts, press releases and web copy, as well as assisting with social media content.

I presented my own radio show on Coventry Hospital Radio on a voluntary basis. My show included a discussion of topical events and also featured news from the creative industry.
