I’m an Art Director who believes every problem has a creative solution. Someone who originates and produces effective integrated campaigns that work across multiple channels. Whether that be print or online, outdoor, press, CRM, TV or radio. And because I happily wear a designer’s hat too I can see many of my ideas through to execution.
I scamp, write, direct and design – and have done so as a freelancer since 2003. I’m equally at home with mouse or marker. I possess a capable pair of hands and love to tackle new and interesting briefs. I’m happy teamed with my writing partner or going solo.
As Head of Creative I built and managed a team of Art Directors, Designers and Technologists. I developed high-level concepts and inspired internal teams. Mine was a hands-on role and I helped to create an environment where the best ideas could be born and thrive.
Teamed with a copywriter and armed with a big fat marker pen, my role as Integrated Art Director involved creating effective, measurable, consumer-facing direct response marketing and advertising campaigns – for both on and offline channels. From scamps through to highly finished Mac visuals, I worked closely with the account teams, other creatives, designers, production teams and clients.
I provided direction, leadership and inspiration to the creative’s of the agency. In addition to my role as a senior creative, I was responsible for ensuring that the art direction and design was of the highest standards – this included line management of the creative team. I worked closely with the Creative Director and together set the design and creative agenda for the entire agency. As in all my roles, I championed the importance of great creative and helped to maintain the agency’s excellent creative reputation.
