I'm a final year broadcast journalism student with a keen interest and knowledge in radio and TV. Also an avid writer on things news, music and culture. Looking for graduate work in broadcast production.
Due to my work with them on my placement, I have been asked to take on the position as a contributing writer whilst I continue with my studies.
Trent TV is my university's award winning TV station. As assistant head of marketing, I work with the head of marketing and station manager on releasing videos, updating social media and sorting financial sponsorship. Other duties include liaising with representatives from local events and sports clubs that would want Trent TV coverage of events. Relevant examples include: Nottingham University varsity series, Splendour Festival and No Tomorrow festival to name a few.
Radar Radio is one of London's fastest growing internet radio stations. During my time there on placement, I assisted the studio managers with shortlisting radio show demos for people wanting a show. I would have to give non-bias and in-depth analysis on the demos that were sent in and deliver them to my managers, working to a strict deadline. I also helped out with the artists' shows by writing down tracklists and making sure they were satisfied with everything. I also was in charge of updating social media during my shifts.
I was commissioned to interview and write up a piece on a global club music collective for VICE's electronic music channel, Thump.
During my time in sixth-form college, I wrote music reviews of UK rap/grime releases for UK music website Link Up TV.
