I am an Interactive Arts graduate from the Manchester School of Art. I am fascinated by the interactions between people and their surroundings and my work mainly uses tactile processes such as ceramics and printmaking. I also have a natural flair for planning and organisation and so have found my experience in roles such as 'Digital Marketing and Social Media Intern' and 'Degree Show Catalogue Organiser' very satisfying. I love collaborating with people from other disciplines to successfully complete a project to a high standard. To find out more about me and my work, have a look around my portfolio or feel free to get in touch.
I currently work part time as a sales assistant whilst I look for new and exciting art and marketing jobs and plan some workshops for September.
I completed a 10 week long internship for the Creative Digital company, Nuttersons. During my time there, I completed a variety of tasks such as: - Meeting with clients - Working to an agreed brief - Meeting and collaborating with Graphic Designers and Photographers - Completing a competitor analysis - Writing business development documents - Writing website content - Writing social media content - Planning and directing a photo shoot for a client - Planning and organising two launch events for a client - Working a launch event, setting up, recording guests' details and live tweeting - Writing email and text content to launch guests
During my time at Venture Arts, I took part in their outreach programme. This involved visiting a school for children with learning difficulties once a week for a 10 week ceramics project. The 10 week project;s theme was 'cycles'. and we focused on recycling by using plastic bottles as press moulds to make porcelain bottles.
As part of my course on Interactive Arts I completed an 'Educator' unit which involved a 2 week placement in a high school/ sixth form and resulted in a full day artist workshop with a group of year 9s. I learnt a lot about art education during this unit and thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with fellow students on different courses to create an interesting workshop that engaged everyone involved. The workshop's main focus was to get the students thinking about mark making and experimenting with different tools and mediums to make art work.
I volunteered once a week at Venture Arts where I assisted with their ceramic workshops. My duties were to assist the participants who had a range of learning difficulties to complete personal and collaborative projects which proved to be a very fulfilling experience. Volunteering here then lead to a temporary paid position on one of their outreach programmes.
I have completed a one year Art and Design Foundation course, specialising in Combined Media, Textiles and Fashion. My foundation year was extremely important to my career as it allowed me to explore and play with different processes that I never would have tried.
GCSEs including: Art, Textiles, English Language and Literature, Maths, Science, IT, German, and Geography.
Completed my degree with a 2:1
