About me
I am a digital editor and flourishing content writer who is currently a member of the editorial board at Genius.com. In January 2018, I started a campaign to assist underrepresented UK female artists called "GodmotHER" and wish to bring my mission to other platforms and companies. My writing talents and credentials have landed me in top level interviews with Sony Music (RCA) and MTV.

Last November I joined the Front of House team at TRSE and after 9 months I was promoted to my current Head usher role. Theatre Royal is thoroughly dedicated to providing diverse theatrical/musical experiences; serving as a cultural hub in Stratford, East London. Working there has allowed me to network with a wide range of creative professionals who use this space as their platform. Key responsibilities and achievements: - Managing a large cohesive team of up to fifteen ushers during any given shift - Training newer staff members on how to provide premium customer service, by remaining polite and friendly to visitors. (I’m also fully trained on how to provide support for the hearing/ visually impaired, differently abled and those with non-conforming gender identities) - Handling floats and displaying efficient cash-handling skills whilst independently cashing up all the merchandise and kiosk counters throughout the building - Ensuring the auditorium, foyer and backstage areas are adequately prepped and maintained by my staff - Prioritising audience safety by calmly following fire/first aid emergency procedures during performances using radio communication to quickly report any issues to other staff members - Admitting latecomers discreetly to minimise disturbance during performance and improve audience satisfaction - Planning rota shifts and inputting data into Microsoft Excel to calculate the profit margins for sales of merchandise and snacks during a show’s running period.

I am a member of the official editorial board for digital platform: Genius.com. As their HQ is based in New York, I am a part of an international community of editors and contributors who maintain and propel the platform. In January 2018, I launched my first campaign to use my platform on there to assist UK female talent called “GodmotHER”. Key responsibilities and achievements: - Managing, reviewing and transcribing song pages, whilst editing then approving site contributions made by the public. - Expanding the presence of UK based artists on the site, working directly with them to improve accuracy of coverage whilst liaising with colleagues in US headquarters - Conducting and researching interviews with artists, to create rich artist biographies for the site. - Writing and submitting pitches for music and pop culture articles - Posting links to my own fresh content on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Soundcloud) - Generating forums and discussions within the editorial board, innovating ideas and projects which increase traffic on the site - Coaching other users and contributors, helping them to improve their writing and expand their lyrical analyses - Promoted to an editorial position from a general contributor only four months after I joined the community - Passed the Genius.com editorial test first time with flying colours - Successfully networked with music journalist professionals on the site, including Andre Torres; creator of Wax Poetics magazine.

In August 2016, I graduated from Queen Mary with a 2:1 English and Drama joint honours degree (BA Hons). During my time at university I developed a love for music history/journalism alongside literature and theatre. This was reflected in my English dissertation which successfully compared 1920's jazz poetry by Langston Hughes to contemporary rap lyricism from Kendrick Lamar and J Cole.
