About me
Hi, my name is Danielle and i'm a Visual Designer with over 3 years experience. I have worked in a top creative agency Kitcatt Nohr as well as the UK's leading voucher/ money saving website VoucherCodes.co.uk. Recently focusing more on Communication Design, I've worked on event artwork, branding, print and digital illustration. After discovering my passion for illustration and branding, I began to experiment with handlettering and combining digital with traditional art forms. This passion has led me to form a self-employed stationery & gift shop business that I have recently launched an online shop for. Other than Design, I enjoys blogging, collecting clothes labels, and to travel. I enjoy working in lots of different styles & mediums. Whether that may be retouching in photoshop or bringing out my sketchbook and pens.
Projects
  • Christmas Branding
Christmas BrandingI was briefed to create the 2015 Christmas branding that would appear across the website, VoucherCodes social media accounts as well as promotional material. After doing some research I decided upon three themes; patterns, geometric illustrations or the photography root. Due to the short deadlines I had to meet for this project and the large range of banners that were needing to be created - I decided the most time effective choice would be the pattern theme. Each illustration within the pattern represents one day of the 26 A-Z days of Christmas. For example; Diamond ring = R is for Really Posh Gifts, Christmas jumper = J is for Jumpers and Camera = T is for Techy Gifts. Once this pattern was finalised and we had the foundations, next was to play with the header banner artwork for the A-Z of Christmas landing page.
  • Coffee Machine Illustrations
Coffee Machine IllustrationsI began this illustration because of the troubles we had with the office coffee machine. Most people were unsure of how to use it properly or forgot to clean or empty/fill parts of the machine to keep in working properly. The solution was to create a simple set of illustrations that I could then use to create a 'How to' poster to put next to the office coffee machine. I created a mixture of illustrations that I think would be helpful to illustrate tasks that would need to be completed such as the 'Empty me' tray that no one ever empties or the steam nozzle that no one ever wipes clean after using. I went for a very clean and simple approach, 4 shades of grey, one shade of brown, one shade of pink to highlight and white. This is useful because if need be I could easily change the colour scheme for the poster or for whatever else I use them for in the future.
