Working at the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) on both the events and membership teams, with both teams requiring a high level of project management, stakeholder management and general process flow/event orchestration skills. Working within an SME has afforded me the opportunity to deal with ambiguity and handle a vast number of workstreams at once with full autonomy of the work’s delivery.
Responsibilities & Achievements:
Hands-on role including the planning and execution of logistics for all PPA events (150 – 800 attendees)
Design and implementation of bespoke imagery with event logos and pictures for all events across multi-channel asset production (both digital and traditional formats) resulting in a consistent yet distinct style for each event
Sole management of the PPA 30 Under 30 Awards 2020 though the covid-19 pandemic, adapting the event to remain in line with government guidelines. Implemented an improved social media strategy and event style, resulting in higher social engagement and event longevity throughout the year
Planned and executed marketing and communications strategies for events, increasing revenue whilst growing engagement and event awareness
Working with both internal and external parties (suppliers, sponsors and exhibitors) to ensure the smooth running of all events
Venue sourcing, cost comparisons and booking, all whilst meeting agreed budgets
Updating the PPA website, as well as designing and maintaining all event-specific websites, ensuring the highest engagement from page viewers
Maintaining and updating the PPA Membership database on Salesforce to ensure an accurate portrayal of the membership for the PPA website, for revenue recognition and for use in campaigns, making all communications to the membership more effective
Responsible for implementing Evessio event management software into the company for use on all events, and subsequently training new staff members on Evessio and other platforms such as Sitecore, Salesforce, EDIT, Hopin and Adestra
Assisting the CEO with contact reports, drafting & sending membership communications, liaising with board members and booking travel
Organising and managing the PPA Staff Christmas Party 2019
Administrating the Membership Renewal process each year, overseeing successful management of invoices with no late payments
Assisting the Membership Manager with planning and organising regular committees and special interest groups, ensuring the logistics are ran to an exceptional level
Creating and cross-checking financial reports used by management to review event performance
Working at executive level with member company Directors, CEOs and similar at large events and dinners, as well as solely managing events for attendees at executive level
