About me
From Cork, Ireland, a lifelong consumer - and, more latterly, creator - of all media artistic and creative-expressive, with a particular passion for the literary. With a BA in English Literature and MA in Creative Writing, I see no contradiction between reading discerningly and indiscriminately, while in my writing I am fascinated by those unmappable intersections where the sublime meets the ridiculous and the profound, the grotesque. My dream is to carry these passions through to a professional life n the literary/creative field, with a career that allows me to turn my capacity for language and communication and love of literary expression to use.

    Clerical OfficerCork City Council
    IrelandFull Time
A temporary contract in the Rates Office, Finance Department of the City Council. Clerical and administrative work managing commercial rates accounts throughout the city. High priority on careful filing and record-keeping, but communication and interpersonal skills also crucial with interaction between me and business owners - by phone, email and in person - a constant feature. High standard of business English and numerical literacy required. Much of the work autonomous in character, but co-ordination with other members of the office vitally important. Quick acquisition of familiarity with proprietary software packages essential.

     - Norwich, United KingdomFull Time
Secondary to my bookselling duties, did frequent shifts in the adjoining café. A vibrant and often hectic environment, I learned opening and close-down procedures, food hygiene practices, and also the intricacies of espresso-based beverage making. Hygiene standards in diligence in maintaining cleanliness a must, while also keeping open clear and efficient communication channels with other team members to ensure safe and smooth running of the café.
