This position has enabled me to combine my charitable work, style, and my desire to gain further skills for the marketing industry. As director of the marketing team, oversee all social media releases and digital media campaigns, undertaken by the other members. This role has allowed for me to improve on both my communication and teamwork skills. Secondly, I am in charge of securing all publicity for the show, creating vital relationships with multiple publications around the University Campus. This allows for multiple press releases throughout the year for both our show and our sponsors. Lastly, the role requires constant communication between the other teams within the committee, especially Creative, in which we discuss and secure the future photo shoots and media campaigns. Overall, the position has allowed for my creative and innovative thinking to improve due to the need for reinvention compared to the previous shows, as well as the employment of new and inventive techniques for marketing.
The role has allowed me to attend numerous press and brand event for the likes of their clients, the Botanist Gin, which provided me with the opportunity to meet and work amongst industry experts, instilling in me both commercial awareness and industry knowledge. I will be able to apply this knowledge and the set of skills that I develop and improved to the role, meaning that I would aim to excel beyond the standard set for me by the agency. Secondly, I was able to work closely with the company's team (of all levels) to fulfil various responsibilities, following all instructions and completing any given task to a high standard. I also managed myself effectively, maintaining a well-planned timetable, allowing me to stay organised in order to meet strict deadlines and prioritise tasks. Lastly, I carried out research for both the agency and their clients, including S. Pellegrino, which was utilised during team-client meetings and updates. Overall, this role further improved my excellent communication skills through social media, digital marketing and the use of all marketing communications platforms.
As my Universities Student Brand Ambassador for Budweiser, I was in charge of maintaining and improving a student based relationship with the brand, through developing an online multi-platform and direct face-to-face network across campus. The role involved using a number of strategies to gather data and information regarding the presence potential of each society, in order to establish which would present the greatest social media presence for Budweiser. Members were then selected, contacted and provided with official Budweiser merchandise, which they were to market online through the use of a number of social media platforms. Secondly, the role involved employing social networking platforms and face-to-face marketing around campus to advertise the Budweiser 'Live Music Event'. By engaging with students across campus and by using our established relationships with societies, we secured a large online presence on the official event app, created exclusively for the event tickets, ultimately gaining a large turn out for the event. Overall, this role allowed me to develop my communication and marketing skills through the use of a number of social platforms, ultimately leading to me receiving the award for best online and offline promotion, and the highest event turn out.
