  • A results-driven film / creative agency & film studios. Successfully managed creative directors, writers, designers, animators, account managers, the head of photography, the head of directing and the head of post production as well as, indirectly, their respective teams while also sharing in the responsibility for the running of the company as a company director. Responsible for not only winning new business and maintaining present client relationships but also the entire creative output of the marketing, film production, film studios and the TV division. Worked closely with the education, advertising, finance and charity sectors as well as the creation of branded content for TVC, online and social media campaigns as well as short-form and longer form films such as documentaries and TV drama content. Other main responsibilities also included maintaining high profit margins, sales and account management, quality control and overall advertising, marketing and brand creation/strategy.   • Digital Design Agency and a 30 year old bespoke Software Development Company Successfully set up and ran a digital design agency under the umbrella of Compsoft plc, a 30-year-old bespoke software development house. Responsible and accountable for the overall management and day to day running of Bluesulphur, reporting to the CEO of Compsoft and the board of directors. Oversaw marketing and lead generation in sales and led high-level negotiations to secure contracts and win pitches. Appointed to maximise company’s performance to ensure aggressive financial targets were met and controlled company and resource allocation in line with aggressive business plans. Provided guidance and “hands-on” design management for the creative, marketing and software development teams. Financial targets were exceeded and in line for 100% increase in year two.

Successfully managed the integrated design studios for 3 business units, Maskew Miller, Pearson and Longman, and was responsible for all permanent and freelance design issues, including print, multimedia (digital – on and offline, interactive, video and 3D) and product marketing for companies such as Disney (USA) and Pearson UK. Maximised department performance to ensure targets were met and controlled department budgets and resource allocation in line with plans. Studio managers, artwork coordinators, art directors and designers reported in to this position. Responsibilities included process development, implementing creative and digital strategies and managing multiple design, marketing and digital teams to a high level of service and productivity. Maskew Miller Longman was the no 1 leader in its industry when I left with my teams meeting their financial objectives by Q3 of each year and completing thousands of titles and projects across education, entertainment and trade genres.
