About me
I'm a proud dad and graphic designer from sunny Luton in the UK trying to keep abreast of the fast changing design world we live in I’ve been working in the design industries since graduating from University in 2001 I’m fascinated by the impact all design but advertising in particular has on decision making done by everyday people in their daily routine. I particularly love design as a mind control tool, but not in a George Orwell novel kind of way more that a lot of people make decisions based on gut instincts (thin slicing - see Blink by Malcolm Gladwell) and often the gut instinct (good or bad) is brought about solely by the success or failure of the design of an advert/package/business card/website/piece of art etc. which we as designers are responsible for! I’m committed and dedicated in character, have a curious, creative open mind that works best when under pressure and will always aim to get a firm grasp of a client's problem before digging deep to find the best possible solution. Equally happy to work on the big blue chip brands and friends of friends as long as they/the organisation value the impact that good design has on resolving the issue they have in hand. I’m currently enjoying working as a senior designer for Grass Roots. An agency that specialises in motivation and getting the best out of businesses Employees, Channel Partners and Customers.     Currently working as an Integrated Senior Designer and Creative Lead at incentives and motivation agency Grass Roots. Growing from a junior designer with a desire to broaden my knowledge of design across multiple mediums to fully fledged Senior Designer responsible for leading briefs, providing quotes and management responsibilities for other designers and freelancers in the present day. As a line manager I enjoy passing on a passion for good design and am invigorated by the enthusiasm they bring to the team. I take briefs, identify clients true challenges, develop concepts, brief collaborators and then deliver solutions that help the world’s leading brands connect with people most important to their business: their employees, channel partners and customers. Heavily involved in new business work; supporting with initial concepts, presentation documents and attending pitch's when the creative needs to be spoken about with passion and understanding. Work very closely with our marketing and sales teams to help drive presence and awareness of the brand in the marketplace and bringing exhibitions to life with engaging themes. With a passion is for branding I've had the pleasure of working on in buckets here. From client programme identities, product development or the development of the Grass Roots brand itself - It's a delight to see ideas grow from a sketch on a piece of paper to a solution that people are talking about and engaging with. I take great pleasure in helping briefs develop from concept stage in a pitch environment right thru to delivery - be it supplying for print or to developers to build - and always hungry for feedback to ensure future work can be even better. In 2011 I was immensely proud to receive the IPM Generation Group "One to Watch" award for my work on M&S Spotlight. In 2015 I was one of only 20 people (out of c.1000) selected for the Grass Roots TrailBlazer programme - a developmental programme for high achievers and future leaders.
