About me

I am a happy, hard-working, creative, self-motivated and ambitious person with an entrepreneurial spirit. I am able to grow profits and continuously improve my skills. I have shaped my working career and education to focus on strategic, creative and business-minded ways to approach marketing and branding. I have a BA Hons in Advertising and Brand Communication and have spent the past four years working at a publishing/media organisation called Silver Pacific Ltd. When I joined the business in 2012 it was facing severe financial difficulties. Today it has over £1m turnover, healthy profits and a portfolio of new businesses. I was solely responsible for marketing, branding and building an online presence for those new businesses as well as improving the brands of the core businesses. I have practical and proven experience at the sharp end of building and growing brands and businesses.

  • I have been in charge of marketing strategy and digital development at this medium sized media/publishing firm. I have helped grow the company beyond print publishing and into e-commerce and business services. When I joined the company in 2012 it published two trade magazines (for the public transport and travel industries). I gave the publications a digital presence and strengthened their brands. Since then I’ve helped develop six new businesses drawing on the strengths of the main publications. Revenue is now more diverse and is growing by approximately £150,000 per year. Responsibilities and roles: • Marketing strategy for all seven businesses and the business group as a whole, which included B2B and B2C. • Producing the creative and artwork for our advertising across print, web banners, web graphics, show stands, e-shots and stationary. • Branding and designing all ten of our websites. • Personally building all the websites using WordPress as a CMS to make it faster and more cost effecient to build and to make it easy for staff to update the content themselves. The development involved HTML, CSS, some PHP and MySQL. I built e -commerce solutions and a membership site which all took refining UX (User Experience Design), a lot of self-learning and perseverance. • Building, running and analysing e-shots. • Working directly with the business managers to increase sales. • Taking part in sales meetings in for our e-commerce products. • Taking part in partnership pitch meetings with companies such as Virgin Trains, RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) and Optimum Oils. • Building web banners for clients. • Working on our stand at events at Birmingham NEC. • Sales cold calling and database client management calls both B2C an B2B. • Tech support calls for customers of our websites. • I also built bespoke social media management tools for the business.

  • The main focus of my role was getting registered but inactive customers to become active from over twenty-five territories across the world. Responsibilities and roles: • Creating customer conversion reports in Excel and the organising the data with analysis as a PDF for management. • Writing copy for e-shots. • Requesting artwork & translations for all of our territories. • Writing copy for Spotify ads
