Hi I'm Debbie, a graphic designer based in East London. I graduated from Shillington College last year and have since been working in my first Junior Design role as well as taking on freelance projects.Locked Pro Plan feature
Working in the fast paced world of the television industry, I was required to produce a large volume of graphics for set dressing to very tight time constraints. This included menus, labels, paperwork, banners, posters and book covers.
Being my rst design role, In ux helped to form a solid grounding as a professional designer. Working closely with the founder and managing director of the company, I was able to learn a huge amount about design in the real world. I conceived logos for new companies based in the UAE and India. I was also given the opportunity to work on the UI design of several projects as well as icons, e-mailers and other reading material.
I learnt and developed painting and ageing techniques on props for lm and television. This was mainly weaponry for productions such as Game of Thrones and Assassins Creed among others. It was very important to maintain a high level of quality and continuity as well as working to very tight time constraints.
I did my work experience here in 2003 and was continuously employed by the company during my studies and since returning from my travels abroad. After university I became full time design and print manager, September 2011–January 2015 My main role here was working closely with clients, both in person and via email, to produce artwork and design proofs for garment decoration and personalisation. Invaluable experience was gained carrying out the whole process from creating the artwork digitally, to manually applying the designs using a heat press or silk screen press.
This three month intensive graphic design course covered many aspects of design. Focusing on Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, we were given briefs as if working for real clients. These covered branding, editorial design, apps and website layouts, UX and UI design among others.
