  • Key design function required to design and develop high accuracy hand held measurement device, taking product from concept study to full product launch.


Product Development Engineer

  • Tasked to explore emerging technologies, understand application requirements and undertake competitor analysis to design, test and develop innovative styli products. Manage custom quotation and product change processes. Check design work undertaken by draughtspersons. Mentor graduates and apprentices during placements. Work with customers on application problem solving and developing products for specific high value applications, including aerospace and automotive.

  • Responsible for producing accurate designs of quotation concepts ready for production. Undertake prototyping and testing of custom iterations of standard product for small volume production runs. Tooling and jig design, development and testing for electrical and mechanical assembly operations.

  • Modular course placed emphasis on attention to detail and problem solving through individual and teamwork produced coursework, both research and academia based. Main themes of the course included Product Design, Computer Aided Engineering Design, Materials Science, Manufacturing Processes and Industrial Design.
