Dimitra Trousa was born in Athens, Greece. She studied Scenography (BA Hons) at ATEI of Athens, Department of Interior Architecture, Decorative Arts & Design. She was trained in Spatial Design at L’ Ecole de Design, Nantes Atlantique via European Erasmus Student Exchange program. She completed her practical training at the technical department of Greek National Opera, in Scenic Construction and Design. Currently she is a post-graduate student at Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL (MA Digital Theatre). Her work encapsulates the practice on versatile design fields, hence, it is orientated in Theatre Design (Set and Costume). Her projects are characterized by the theatrical experience inherited by her origin and the experimentation and versatility of her work. She is an innovative designer, who approaches theatre both academically and professionally. Recently she is experimenting on participatory performance practices.
Internship in collaboration with Technological Educational Institute of Athens. During this period I worked as a design associate and props technician, in collaboration with fellow technicians and designers, in the following operas: Il Trovatore (dir. S. Ponta), Tosca (dir. H. De Ana), La Boheme (dir. I. Sideris), The Little Red Riding Hood (dir. D. Karantzas), Chased/Freud For Her/The Tide (dir. A. Euclides), Manon Lescaut (dir. G. Del Monaco), The Nutcracker (chg. R. Zanella).
