About me
As a highly motivated Graphic Design student, I have always had a passion of leading conceptual project that engages critical thinking through creativity. I have developed a tactile and mature approach of solving problems via experimentation, while honing my digital competency skills such as Adobe Creative Suite. In successfully completing a self-driven project for my final year, I will be graduating by July 2017.

A brief history of Minisry of Defence Malaysia. • Ministry of Defence Malaysia was established on August 31st, 1957 officially began operations in a building located in Brockman Road (now Jalan Dato' Onn), Kuala Lumpur. This building also housed the office of the first Defence Minister, the late Tun Abdul Razak bin Datuk Hussein, who served from 31 August 1957 to 22 September 1970. • After the retreat of the British troops, the Malaysian Government took drastic measures to improve the security of the country from any threat. • publication
publicationThe project that I did for this one was in response to one of the task in my second year of graphic design in UWE, bristol. I was tasked to listen to a radio programme called 'Woman's hour' for 2 weeks and come up with a design outcome. 'Woman's hour' is a radio programme on the BBC radio that is exclusively dedicates for woman. The radio comprises of a few slots in an hour where the interview, the talk of the town as well as the current issues are being discussed. After about 2 weeks listening to the radio programme, I have an idea to produce an outcome that is relevant to daily sexual assault by woman. The idea also came from a social experiment that took place on the tube on November where a standing man (representative from the experiment) tries to approach a lady who happens to be standing right next to him on the tube and attempted to assault her. The lady cries for help about a couple times only then a man stood up and rushed his way to the lady. I use the idea of reverse psychology to raise awareness, to make people stop and think about it. I also insert some elements of a bystander effect, the society norm of looking away from a struggle due to the presence of other people on the same location. The idea is to come up with as much statements as I could that represents society's norm which in reality and subconsciously, they are not the right thing to do. I brought up the statements in the style of an American artist named Barbara Kruger. Kruger used much of 'We, she, he, I' addressing the cultural constructions of power, identity and sexuality. There are 2 series of booklets that shells inside a sleeve. All of them are handmade including the sleeve, hence the lacking of some elements. the first series focuses much on a woman's side and their dislikes. The second booklet focuses on a man's side and their dislikes thus the booklets cover on both genders without the intention to demoralise the other. I am glad to work on this project based on the actual life experience where when it is handed over to people, the first glance would stir up some sort of mixed feeling (The feedback that I received from a good friend) However, of 2 series that I made, the first one was the closest one to working because I honestly put so much of effort on the first series that I purposely made for female readers. the second series was a bit confusing with some facts that are not aligned to the reader experience (the second series is meant to be for male but some of the facts are not relevant to the gender) I am looking forward to improving this booklet by working on the second series, so I could establish a well-written and curated lists of gender segregation that not just highlights stereotypes but also everyday personal experience.
  • Publication.
Publication.I made this publication in response to the task in my second year graphic design. I was tasked to tackle an article that is relevant to the book that I read over the summer break. my book titled 'The net delusion : How Not To Liberate The World' give readers an insight into the virtual cult that has the ability to gather information and gather people in the most subtle way. The article in response to my book was 'Walled garden looks rosy for Facebook'. it was published in the year of 2012 on Guardian newspaper website, explaining the moderation that Internet continues to impose on users that subsequently acted as the virtual 'authority' and be able to block the contents based on the policy that protects them. This is among my personal work that I've spent the most time on to make sure that the publication does not miss any IMPORTANT points from the original article. Among some of the things that I consider was the type of paper stocks to be used. The publication is divided into 2 parts; • Brochure - Has 2 sides on it. the pattern at the back and IMPORTANT information on the other side. The paper colour is dark brown with 110 GSM • Booklet - Size about 3.7" x 3.7, contain all texts from the article. the type of paper that I use for the booklet was sugar paper with 80 GSM. the aim to use 80 GSM is to allow the book to be perfectly folded without seeming too bulgy. apart from including some illustrations on the last 2 pages of my booklet, I altered some of the texts, turning them into highlights that would be able to be understood by everyone and give a hint that they are among the important elements from the article.
  • Christmas Card Competition
Christmas Card CompetitionMy second attempt of low poly for a competition in uni. the competition required me to design a digital christmas card using "season's greetings" theme. I was inspired to produce an artwork of the main character from Home Alone, Kevin Mccalister (Macaulay Culkin) from a movie poster.
  • Low Poly Illustration
Low Poly IllustrationI am very new into doing this kind of illustration hence the reason for me to attempt low poly. the image is an integration between 2 softwares, Photoshop (where I adjust the basic setting such as brightness/contrast and sketch my plan out) and Illustrator. It took me about 4 days (+1 for the final touch-up since I'm doing past midnight) and I'm fairly satisfied by the outcome. I'm taking pride of this work because this is first of my own that I initiated independently and not based on any school projects.
