Originally a Part-time job as financial aid through my time at university where I was able to utilise my skills in many roles throughout the company over 4 locations including replenishment, food preparation in the cafe, customer service, checkouts, petrol attendant, code checking on fresh foods, and finally progression to Checkout supervisor. As a checkout supervisor I worked alongside two other supervisors to manage the customer service team, including training, money management, key holding, complaint management, scheduling and accepting lorry deliveries.
Expanded my creative development and design experience through a range of assignments and lectures on advertising and design from building the brief, visualizing and completing the brief, market research customer and company definition. I also explored different pathways to idea creation and visualization including photography, illustration, paint, copy as well as experiential and gorilla advertising. I discovered not only the means to create such art work, but also how it affects us mentally through psychological research to how audiences are targeted, molded and influenced and how these are created through archetypes and stereotypes. I developed my dissertation “Generation Z: The Fear mongers- The frailty of society and its causes” through vigorous research into drawing more thought on the argument to the media making us think and do things through creative ploys versus psychological factors such as experience , behavior, common sense and instinct . I was able to build skills with many design programs including Adobe Photoshop, Flash, InDesign, Illustrator, PowerPoint, and Dreamweaver.
Exploring Arts and media through three distinctive pathways throughout this one year course which served as entry to my degree. These included a “pathway stage”, “Exploratory Stage” and “Confirmation stage” where I built upon my theory and practical skills with creating and developing various art and design projects by gaining skills through new programs and techniques, including Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and PowerPoint.
