I am looking for a change. The biggest challenge I face is breaking into the advertising and communications industry, where I have limited professional experience. However, the skills and qualities I do possess, coupled with an eagerness to learn, will provide me with the energy to succeed in a great agency. I want to work with open minded people, on influential projects, with those who share similar values to my own, for a company with ambitions and interests like mine. Having worked in financial services, I have established myself in London and I am prepared for a new challenge. I have always had an interest in campaigns that I have come across in day to day life and for me, advertising is an industry which offers an exciting career path. One of the most attractive aspects of a job in client services is the associated mixture of creativity alongside strategy and commercial acumen. I believe my skills and experience can be attributed to a new role in creating, communicating and delivering campaigns in a collaborative team.
As a Senior Quality Assurance Officer, I am responsible for maintaining and reporting on the quality of Deloitte’s project in association with the National Australia Bank Group. I often chair meetings involving senior management and liaise with various levels of client personnel, implementing initiatives which are focussed on improving quality and productivity across the business. I analyse patterns of behaviour, identify emerging issues and manage potential risks whilst translating raw data into robust business intelligence reports to establish how consequential developments may affect the organisation. After a year in the role, I have received a promotion to a more senior position with added responsibility. The position is testament to numerous transferable skills and qualities that I would bring to a new role. Notably, strong interpersonal skills, analytical capabilities, delivery of ideas and presentations to clients, working to strict deadlines, and commercial awareness.
At University I greatly improved my French language capabilities, studying modules focussed on politics, culture, literature, art and linguistics. A varied course suited me well because I have an interest in all manner of subjects, and enjoyed doing research into historical and modern topics. I liked the mix of learning styles and I was able to develop different ways of working, both individually and collaboratively in small or large groups. Presenting in both French and English boosted my confidence and was useful in developing key interpersonal skills. A year abroad in Lyon offered the chance to engage wholly with French culture and language. Whilst at University I was also involved in a weekly radio show which allowed me to express my passion for music. I produced a weekly show at the University’s own student station - Fuse FM. This involved researching new music to play on air, discussing local and national news, creating podcasts, and relaying information about new and exciting events coming to Manchester.
