About me

My time at university studying Sound Engineering gave me the opportunity to learn some extremely beneficial skills in the audio engineering field. Modules that were taught included audio electronics, digital audio technology, live sound, studio recording & mixing, instrument acoustics, acoustic engineering, music and sound for visual media, and the application of sound systems. During this time I had the chance to explore Pro tools software and used the program for both recording & mixing applications especially when taking part in sessions with the recording society. This was the software of choice for the so that people like myself who had not had much use of pro tools were able to learn the basics. I have a highly proficient understanding of Logic Pro X. This includes recording, mixing and also producing my own music within the software with at least 8 years experience. My knowledge of Mac OS X goes hand in hand with Logic Pro X and I have had 8 years experience also. After leaving university my passion for engineering grew largely and lead me to meet many aspiring artists and talents to record and produce with as a freelance sound Engineer & Producer. The recording sessions were for vocals only and I relish the chance to get back into the recording of musical instruments alongside vocals. Some artists I have recorded with include rappers ItsNate at Wood Greens Chocolate Factory, Jay Midge at a home studio & Nines at a home studio. Part of my role is to listen to and give feedback on mixes delivered by external mixing Engineers. The mixes would either be approved or sent back to the Engineer with the relevant feedback. Aside from recording & mixing I produce music myself, using a mix of drum machines, plugins and software’s such as Ableton and Logic. In August 2016 alongside 2 friends I founded a label and music platform called “Pattern Sounds” for Dj’s and upcoming artists to showcase their music and Dj Mixes. I also Dj regularly and in April of 2016 put on an event in Junction House of Dalston alongside promoters Ill Measures and ourselves Pattern Sounds. Dj’s on the night included me, Selassie TBC of Worldwide Fm, Yomi of Radar Radio, Warren Xclnce, Seiji & Simbad. I am highly passionate about all aspects of music. A day does not go by without me focusing on a particular aspect of my skillset. Whether it be recording with an artist, producing music or creating playlists for mixes. As a DJ and Engineer, I have obtained a brilliant understanding of audio & mixing. I hold an extremely solid knowledge of commercial & underground music along with an eclectic taste in music across all genres, from Jazz to Electronica, Hip Hop to Funk. Attention to detail is a quality that comes naturally to me. it is also essential for my role as a recording & mixing Engineer and my love of producing & Dj'ing. I strive to learn new skills and techniques as fast as possible and to the absolute best of my ability. I cant confidently say that I am a fast learner and highly competent at multi tasking. A calm and collected thought process is essential in this industry and my ability to keep an even temperament, no matter how frustrating a situation can be, is something that I pride myself on. Above all I have a passion and drive to learn and pursue a long and rewarding career in todays music Industry, while consistently enriching myself with the skills, knowledge and all aspect of communication needed in order to stay relevant in a frequently evolving industry.
