About me
As a teenager, Akin began working finding opportunities in Production Design for the Festival of Imagination, at the Warwick Arts centre in 2015 and 2016. Followed by an Assistant Curator internship at The Square Gallery, Battersea in 2017 that progressed his skills and expertise for curation, auction, and archiving. When invited as a guest to the Bahrain art fair at the Saatchi Gallery in 2018, Akin was opened to the culture of art on an international scale and began diversifying into Filmography and Cultural Production, which he still explores as a freelancer today. Captivated by theory and the language of art, he began at Somerset house Trust as Studio Assistant at Hannah Perry Solo Exhibition, Gush 2018. Going on to work as an Exhibitions Assistant at the (2018) 1:45 Contemporary African Art fair that same month. With a broader outlook on design an exhibit and the role of a curator within contemporary society. Akin went on to conceptualise and co-ordinate Immersive Art installations. Akin intertwined the performative arts with recorded art and Fine Art, creating a temporal hub for Londons thriving young artist community.

  • YCN ART FUND
YCN ART FUNDMy approach to the brief was to create conversation, by exploring taboo issues and common themes within youth, re appropriating rave culture in a tasteful and tongue ‘n cheek way. My goal was to create a nod to the primary audience whilst pertaining to older generations views. Filmed by Scott Peters
