About me
I'm a filmmaker who has worked on a broad range of projects and in a broad range of roles, from directing, filming and editing international news documentaries to music videos and branded content for clients including The Guardian, The New York Times Magazine and Tate Media. A versatile shooter, I love filming in all environments and taking on any challenge. My experience includes filming underwater, on boats, in mountains, in race cars and abroad - as far as North Korea. I have a keen eye for detail and strive to produce videos that are always both visually and intellectually compelling. I enjoy taking projects from concept to completion. I'm comfortable researching, pitching, directing, filming and editing alone, but also thrive when working in a team and when given the chance to collaborate with others.

UNITED VOICES DOCUMENTARY - Fight for your rights: the trade union for outsourced workersAs work in the UK gets more precarious and the ‘gig economy’ booms, trade unionism is being reimagined and people from a wide range of backgrounds are joining new kinds of unions, often for the first time. Before coronavirus hit the UK and impacted the healthcare system, grassroots union United Voices of the World was already fighting for the rights of key workers. Through personal stories of one group of cleaners, caterers and porters from St Mary's Hospital in London, we chart an inspiring sto

Call this inclusive? Why are only 4% of children's book heroes in the UK BAME?More than 33% of students at UK schools are from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, but only 4% of the protagonists in children's books in the UK are BAME. The publishing industry has made big claims about its push for inclusivity both on and off the page, but some believe progress is painfully slow. Grace Shutti investigates what’s taking UK publishing so long and meets some of the creators who are championing change, including the authors of hit books Amazing Grace and Look Up!, and the ow

Beyond the Blade drama seriesThe Guardian's award-winning investigation, Beyond the Blade, documented the knife deaths of children and teenagers across Britain in 2017. This multimedia project is a creative response to that investigation, seeking to get behind sensationalist headlines and challenge misconceptions about knife crime in the UK. www.theguardian.com/blade
  • Pyongyang calling: I spent a week in North Korea | Life inside North Korea
Pyongyang calling: I spent a week in North Korea | Life inside North KoreaI spent a little over a week in the North Korean capital to gain an insight into what daily life is like for North Korean citizens there. Escorted by government minders at all times I was invited to visit a nursery, zoo, swimming pool, funfair, parks, factories, festivals and more, but left questioning if anything was real. I solo shot video and audio both in Pyongyang and back in London, and did all editing on this front page feature.

Life inside North Korea: the power of Juche explained | Life inside North KoreaOn a rare press trip to Pyongyang, we were given a guided tour of the Juche Tower. The flame-topped structure is a symbol of Juche, the philosophy of the ruling Korean Workers' party, which was invented by Kim Il-sung, one of the country’s 'eternal leaders' and grandfather of Kim Jong-un. Juche is the ideology of self-reliance that for a time sustained the economy until stagnation

A tour of North Korea's answer to Disneyland | Life inside North KoreaOn a rare press trip to Pyongyang we were presented with a night at the bustling Kaeson Youth Park, where residents are marshalled in line by military personnel for a dose of state-sanctioned fun. But while the UN warns of food scarcity in the rest of the country, is this just a welcome distraction for the privileged few?
