Digital Journalist

Working as part of a team of digital journalists and editors to implement the digital vision for London Live, the capital’s first dedicated TV news and entertainment channel. I created articles for the news and current affairs sections of londonlive.co.uk using SEO friendly headlines and written copy. As a digital journalist, I also created shareable, shortform video that reflected the channel’s news output using Premiere Pro for London Live online as well as the London Evening Standard and Independent. I was also responsible for posting shareable content to the channel’s social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vine and Spotify. I used analytics, including social media insights and Google Analytics to guide editorial vision both online and on air. I am competent at using SnappyTV – Twitter’s live video editing tool – and used this to create buzz and interaction around live programming. I contributed to and executed regular story ideas for both linear and online channels as well as helping to create programme strands – London Trends, which reflects issues and topics Londoners are talking about which may not be covered by the main news. I used analytical tools to do this.
