About me
I am a recently graduated Textile Design student with a keen interest in hand craft. I am very organised with a considered approach to all tasks and a commitment to producing high quality work. Whilst at university I worked on live briefs from Hallmark and the interiors company Woodhouse and Law. These taught me about working to industry time frames and working to specific requirements that may be out of my own comfort zone.
I was fortunate to exhibit my final university collection at New Designers 2017, and undertake work experience with innovative textile companies, Fay McCaul, Selvedge Magazine and Sew Over It, which fueled my interest to pursue a career in this field.

Projects
- 'Barking Up The Wrong Tree' - My Final Collection at UniversityBarking up the wrong tree was my final collection at university based around my studies on bark and lichen. The main technique throughout this collection was crochet, however I did use embellishment on top of this, as well as 3D construction techniques for the furnishings. This was the longest project I have ever worked on so really gave me a chance to get deep into certain areas and keep pushing myself right till the very end- our degree show. The collection evolved from textile art pieces, to products, to furniture, and eventually incorporated all three ideas. After finishing my degree i also showed this collection at New Designers 2017.

I ran a craft workshop at Selvedge's Spring Fair instructing people how to create hand sewn fabric peonies. This was a stall run by Selvedge themselves as a complimentary activity to the attendants.
Work Experience

I undertook work experience with the textile artist and designer Fay McCaul to help her with creating a collection for Decorex 2016 and commissioned pieces for customers. I helped in all areas, from construction of large scale work to material preparation.
