Here I worked to ensure filming was completed within the 3 days we had scheduled for the short film. Working with a small team on location, challenges included 4-5 minute long shots and organising catering on a low budget.
As a runner on an ITV drama I learnt the ins and outs of television production, supporting the third AD by locking down sets, looking after cast and ensuring everyone was kept well fed and watered.
I represented the university television station; duties include relaying current events and connecting the university societies and sports clubs. I also worked within an office environment, answering calls and emails, handling petty cash and attending development meetings.
I co-ordinated a crew of 34 people on a small feature film, taking responsibility for a range of important practicalities. These included creating call sheets, location scouting, crew and SA booking and ensuring everyone received 3 meals a day. I ensured that all filming was completed in time without compromising the quality of filming.
I was a front of house host for a university film conference; welcoming the guests and giving them helpful information throughout their stay. I also assisted with the technical equipment during presentations.
Responsibilities included handling financial transactions, training new staff, managing the bakery, advising customers and handling complaints.
Here I answered phones, took bookings and independently found locations for TV programmes, feature films, magazines and adverts. These included Tesco and Aquafresh as well as Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise films.
