About me
HELLO! I’m Elena and I am a communication designer. I have worked on a variety of projects and I’m always motivated to learn something new and improve my skills. I enjoy seeing how projects progress through each phase to the final outcome. Collaborating with other creatives is my favourite way to work. The interaction design field fascinates me and my intention is to specialise in digital outcomes such as websites and mobile applications.
Projects
  • Eventoo - App&Website
Eventoo - App&WebsiteTHE BRIEF Designing a prototype of a mobile app and a website for a service related to the sharing economy. THE IDEA The idea was to create Eventoo, a service that allows users to find or offer a ride to go to different kind of events such as concerts, matches or plays, by sharing the car with other people. In this way, they can save money and share their experience with new people with the same interests. The advantages, compared to the other already existing services, are that Eventoo allow
  • Milano Agra
Milano AgraTHE BRIEF Designing a transmedial system about the writer, journalist and translator Luciano Bianciardi and his life in Milan. THE IDEA AND THE PROCESS We wanted to communicate the critical and ironic view of Bianciardi about Milan so that people could see the city in a different way and notice the similarities or the differences between the city in the Sixties and the contemporary one. After a phase of research on the author and his works we picked out the places in Milan that were related to them, then we chose the main ones and we underlined two routes. Then we decided the different elements of the system and we designed them: a website (that is a hybrid between a web documentary and a story map), a mobile application, a printed book, signage on the territory and a social strategy (which has elements both in the city and online). I designed the mobile app, which is an audio guide that allows the users to walk around the city while listening to excerpts from the works of the author. It is also possible to read quotes, see pictures or video and unlock contents by going to the points of interest and scanning the QR code on the panels located there. People can also interact with the places using the camera tool of the app to get a picture of the area mixed with an older photo of the same place in the 60s. • CELIAC? DON'T PANIC
CELIAC? DON'T PANICTHE BRIEF The theme of the course was the celiac disease and the services that could help people afflicted, if they are either Italian or foreigner, in anticipation of Exposition Milano 2015. The goal was to guide celiacs, creating information points in the city, so they could know where to find products and services. THE IDEA The target were celiacs, who have to find where to eat when they are away from home, so we created a system that could be useful before the arrival and during their stay. To be able to achieve that, we organized a network that is both digital and physical, in the city area, so the celiac can find information at any time and wherever he is. The name “Gluten Free Easy Network” summarizes the concept and the entire project, because the goal was not only to guide the celiac but also to do it in a simple way that could fit its needs. THE PROCESS We did a research to figure out what the real needs for a celiac are so that we could understand what the information that they require are, and which places could be chosen to communicate them. After that, we chose and designed the materials that could convey that information, based on needs, places, and situations. We also created all the visual elements to communicate the service: logo, icons, map, backgrounds. After developing the network as a team, each one of us focused on a specific part of it as the thesis project.
