Projects
  • Saundarya
SaundaryaThe task of the project was to choose a collection of a fashion designer and then create a "Show Piece" and two-three other additional pieces inspired by the collection. I chose the Spring/Summer 2013 collection by "Atelier Azza", a Boutique and brand established by the Indian Designer Azeeza Khan based in Chicago. Her works show themselves throughout opulent embroideries. Azeeza's collections, in fact, are inspired by traditional Indian costumes even though the young designer tries to interpret
  • TiWa
TiWaThe theme "Lokalkolorit" has an imprint in this project in a geographic and atmospheric sense, as a difference in two types of Environments - The tropical beach and the northern beach. The tropical beach is a happy, sunny, warm, exotic and easy-going environment. The northern beach is much colder and sometimes it can get really windy in the north. A typical and interesting key-object of the North-Sea beach is the "Strandkorb", a comfortable lounger that repairs from the strong winds of these areas. "Tidal Wave" is a modern solution composed of two products. On one hand is a little comfortable sun-lounger, that can easily be closed and carried everywhere. This lounger is split into three parts that are connected to one another through a film hinge of plastic. When the lounger is folded it can also be used as a bag. On the other hand is a solid, heavy and safe beach chair that is less portable but includes the important wind-shield. The shield is made of technical fabric, like the one of a tent, and it also offers a comfortable container made of plastic. The two seating-configurations allow the user to have a complete and fully relaxed experience. The semiotic of both products explains itself clearly as it was inspired from the shape of an ocean wave.
  • PORSCHE BUILDING
PORSCHE BUILDINGThe request of the customer (Porsche AG Weissach) was to develop a new concept of a building and some office furniture concepts for the uprising Centre of Innovation and Integration in Weissach, Germany (IIZ). We decided to concentrate on the concept of the whole building and the essential interior settings. We created, then, a concept based on circles and ellipses that keeps being present in every part of the project: from the ground floor, to the ceiling and further to the singular workplace. The concept is inspired by the language of the design of typical Porsche vehicles and is optimally adapted to the appearence of the development site in Weissach. At the centre we find a large spiral staircase, whose aim is to encourage communication between the staff, to offer space for innovation and creativity and to increase productivity. Two big conference rooms are positioned in the cavity in the middle of the staircase which can be used as big representative rooms for client visits. Two inner courts, positioned on the two sides of the staircase, offer further smaller meeting rooms and another source of light for the building. We can still recognize the shape language in the individual work tables which are also installed in a modular system. This modular system allows, if necessary, a closed and concentrating working environment by rotating each module. An installation that drops from the ceiling can provide an additional private working experience. An integrated sound system makes sure that the user can create his own atmosphere without disturbing the other employees.
