About me

I am a Shillington College graduate with excellent Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator skills. I do all of my own Illustration, Art Direction, Photography and all my own stunts. Since completing my course I have worked as a Design Intern at Esquire magazine helping the design team to generate concepts and solutions for a variety ofphotoshoots and illustrations. I also helped to brief photographers with what was required for different shoots; designed, proof-read and presented final pages for print in the Jan/Feb issue, this included taking amendment notes from a variety of editors. I also learnt to use the Hearst collaborative production programme CenShare. Since completing my course I have also taken on freelance design projects including creating staff manuals for a small business and a branding project for a University of Cambridge doctor. This involved estimating time to completion so that I could give realistic quotes to the clients as well as coming up with concepts to fit the needs of the clients. During my time at college I completed weekly projects, working to strict dealines. I practiced a wide variety of skills including design, layout, photography, image research, art working and creating a series of mock ups. I worked on briefs fora number of identity and branding projects which are reflected in my portfolio. The course also taught me to manage my time effectively whilst working full time and to be self motivated in my design work. When I’m not working on freelance projects I work as a bartender, barista and all round good egg at HOME. I am incredibly hardworking - evidenced by my working full time as a cafe manager whilst studying graphic design. I am highly motivated and work well both individually and in collaboration with others; I learn fast and am very keen to expand my skillset. In my previous role at The Artisan cafe I was responsible for social media, promotions, designing print advertisements and menu boards in keeping with the brand guidelines. I also designed the logo, branding, website and window decalsfor the onsite artisan bakery - Toast The Eccleshall Bakery. I'm currently based in Manchester, UK but am willing to relocate. In addition to my creative pursuits I have a BA (Hons) in Film Studies and a MA in Gender Studies. I am passionate about food and cafe culture and in my previous job as a cafe manager I cultivated this passion through packaging and logo design; as well as striving for the perfect latte art. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, travel and wearing a variety of hats.
