I am working in a very small team so my role is essential. I create content for the website, help with fashion week schedules, transcribe interviews, request and return items, liaise with pr's and any general admin that is required.
I am the deputy editor of Sunday Girl magazine. It is an independent magazine, although only on it's third issue it has seen success. It is stocked in over 50 stores worldwide including, Japan and Portugal. We are stocked in Selfridges, W H Smith and other independent mag shops around the UK. I style a lot of the stories for each issue, I have also written articles. I generally oversee the smooth running of the magazine whether that be finding shoot locations, deciding on the cover and content or proof reading just before print. My role emcompasses the whole scope of the magazine creation process.
As a product technical specialist I was writing product and size and fit descriptions daily. Everyone on the team would have up to 40 products a day to cover. In this role I was also in the photo studio looking how things fit first hand. I also went to meetings with designers to learn more about the brand and the materials and techniques they used in order to make a well-fitting garment. In this role attention to detail and good writing skills were key.
As a fashion assistant I was primarily in charge of the fashion cupboard making sure of the smooth running or requests and returns. I had to be organised with dockets to make sure everything came in and out on time. I also assisted with some online stories by doing research and sourcing products. I chose and requested accessories for main fashion shoots.
