I am a freelance journalist and social media consultant about to complete an MA in News Journalism from Cardiff University with an NCTJ qualification. I have previously worked as a Social Media Journalist at The Times and The Sunday Times. I am interested in social media trends, health, social affairs, fashion and sustainability.

- I developed the Instagram strategy for the main @thetimes account, used social media platforms to reach new audiences for The Times and The Sunday Times, and analysed performance data using Google Analytics and Crowdtangle.
- I found breaking and developing news stories using social media platforms and contributed digital content to major projects such as the 'Lost Children' knife crime investigation and The Times Good University Guide.

I was consulted to update the social media for the School of Engineering at UWTSD, working closely with the Marketing and Communications team as well as the Web Design team. During the weeks I spent at UWTSD I:
- Drew up a social media plan focussing on STEM subjects that aimed to reach out to potential students and regularly communicate with students already at the school.
- Focused on developing a social media plan that incorporated the Schools' passion for #GirlsinSTEM, an initiative that encourages women to consider careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects.
- Helped redesign the webpage for the School of Engineering in order to make it more accessible for potential students.
- Created Facebook groups for the various degree subjects in the School of Engineering to encourage communication between students and make them aware of upcoming events.
