I have worked in the arts for over ten years, six of which in a marketing capacity and this is position I really enjoy. I am experienced in working on a Heritage Lottery funded capital project and I am able to work strategically as well as devise and deliver marketing campaigns. I work in a range of media from print, CMS, digital communications and films and take great care when copywriting, proofing or designing. I pride myself in developing good working relationships with colleagues, musicians, promoters, sponsors and suppliers
I am responsible for all marketing and promotion of the foundation which includes The Red House (the historic home of composer Benjamin Britten and his partner, the tenor Peter Pears), its collections and archive, grant scheme, events and exhibitions to a wide audience ranging from the local Aldeburgh community, national and international visitors. My role is to develop and implement a marketing and digital strategy to grow its audience and bring more visitors to the site. I manage the website content including development, improvements and updates. I also design all marketing material, exhibitions panels and displays, publications and create films for exhibitions and events. Evaluation is a large part of my role where I co-ordinate visitor feedback, gathering and interpreting data of visitors, website and social media engagement. I assist in organisational strategy, compiling statistics and facilitating focus groups with a range of audiences.
I was involved in a HLF funded capital campaign to develop and improve the historic house along with the addition of the Jimi Hendrix flat. My involvement included the development of an Activity Plan, dealing with press enquiries, brand development and the creation of marketing, digital and PR strategies. My role included the overseeing the production of all printed literature for events, fundraising, learning and signage; promotion of Handel House events through listings, reciprocal arrangements, emails and social media; collating visitor statistics and feedback as well as measuring online engagement through Google Analytics; co-ordinate and manage all filming and photography enquiries; website maintenance and CMS training to all staff; development of social media channels Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Soundcloud; commission and produce films for the Handel House website and YouTube channel; support and marketing of the museums Composer-in-Residence and Handel House Talent schemes; Front of House duties as required.
The marketing and promotion of all ROSL ARTS events (music, art and literature); designing promotional material such as event brochures, programmes, posters, invitations and adverts as well as biannual brochure for The Monday Platform concert series at Wigmore Hall; commission graphic designers for Annual Music Competition and Annual Scholars Exhibition; update ROSL ARTS website; manage supporters database using Filemaker Pro; provide images and biographies of ROSL ARTS musicians to venues and organisations; event management of all events such as ROSL Annual Music Competition final (QEH), MUSIC @ 100 PRINCES STREET series (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), The Monday Platform concert series (Wigmore Hall) and Annual Scholars Exhibition (OXO Tower Gallery).
Smooth running of the concert season: press, marketing and publicity (including website); production of the season programme; managing ticket database, including group bookings, supporters and guests; administrating LCO Live label and limited edition ‘Live On The Night’ CD’s; provided admin support for new music scheme ‘LCO New:Explore’ and education programme ‘Music Junction’; worked closely with venues for ticket requirements and marketing campaigns; attended concerts and managing functions and looking after high-end supporters and guests; assisted the Managing Director and General Manager.
