I am in my second year of studying Fashion Buying and Brand Management at Ravensbourne University in order to fulfil my ambition of becoming a buyer. Alongside key skills such as identifying trends, product and brand development, I have been fascinated by the role of AI in fashion buying which has shown me huge and exciting opportunities for the future. I have also had the opportunity to use my creative and technical skills to produce portfolios, range plans and a fashion promotion film. Work experience has helped me develop effective communication and organisation skills to work independently and within a team.
Projects
- Fashion Buying and Product DevelopmentIn this project I developed 3 range plans for Urban Outfitters. Following this I worked out the costings and quantities of each product before investigating the supply chain in order to achieve the six rights of buying: the right product, at the right price, at the right time, in the right place, in the right quality, in the right quantity.
- AI in the Fashion IndustryFollowing a choice of modules to take 'The Relationship between Art and AI' stood out to me as being the most relevant and important in my discipline. I conducted research into the implications that AI brings for creativity in the fashion industry especially its impact on buying, trend forecasting and design. This enabled me to conclude that AI is a tool that will take human creativity to new heights and open doors we were not aware existed.
- Trend Proposal PackThis is a trend proposal pack I made for my hypothetical swimwear brand ‘Tide’. After conducting Pestel analysis, primary research including street style shots and consumer research as well as secondary research using platforms such as Mintel, Edited and LSn:Global I was able to translate this research into future trend predictions for my chosen market- Luxury Swimwear.
