Having previously worked for Redburn Events over the summer of 2014 I accepted a full time position after finishing university last year. Due to the small size of the company, my role was very diverse which gave me a great insight into event coordination, creative development, personal assistance and office management. Some of my responsibilities consisted of: • Concept development - working with the Managing Partner, developing creative briefs to ensure we met and exceeded the expectations of clients by making their visions become a reality. • Event coordinator - assisting on site at events managing a team of suppliers and staff that required meticulous attention to detail, time management and organisational skills. • Digital communications - managed the company website and social media pages, updating with events and information to remain current and promote previous successful events. • Personal assistant - to both Managing Partner and Director, capable of handling multiple tasks within set time frames. • Self-starter - required to make independent rational decisions in fast pace challenging environments through creative problem solving. • Relationship building - with suppliers and clients. • Office management - responsible for organising weekly reports for meetings and managing internal operations as a result. • Accounts - managed specific accounts for events by raising supplier and client invoices using QuickBooks. • Managing budgets - creating budgets, liaising with suppliers in order to source prices, construct and communicate realistic costs of events.
• Developed the brand’s marketing activity and online presence by analysing competitor’s strategies through benchmarking. • Produced weekly creative performance reviews that included the company’s achievements and press that were sent throughout the internal database.
I completed my industrial placement year for university at the SMC Head Office in London where I gained a great understanding about the financial systems and processes involved within a luxury fashion designer. My year at SMC within the Finance & Accounting department taught me about general business accounts. My role consisted of: •Financial management, responsible for head office petty cash, employees’ business expenses and advances. • Created monthly store and department reports evaluating business performances in order to make future strategic decisions. • Recruited and managed two interns that heavily developed my management and leadership skills. • During busy periods I stepped in as a receptionist answering calls, sorting bookings and preparing meeting rooms.
Learnt about key areas vital for any business (Marketing, Finance, E-Commerce, E-Business, Consumer Behaviour etc.)
I was awarded
In my second year at university I was given an award and certificate for getting the top marks on my Marketing & Consumer Behaviour modules. This is reflective of the independent seminar work I produced as well as my exams. I thoroughly enjoyed analysing consumer behaviour, picking apart key patterns and traits to then develop innovative strategies in order to communicate a specific brand story and product to target audiences.
