• Working with Rainbow TrustOver the Christmas and Halloween period we worked with Rainbow Trust in order to raise awareness and money for the charity. This year we managed to raise £12,377 thanks to our wonderful customers, which is the most we have raised over a yearly period :)

The team have been working on implementing the design ideas which are brought to life over the course of several months and lots of hard work. At Speos I was a beginner photographer, only having done it before as a hobby. Over the course which ran 9-5, 5 days a week, I really got to grips with different types of photography and how they are applied to the real working world. I was taught many techniques which I picked up efficiently, ensuring that when I left school I was fully equipped for working in the photography industry. Our course was set into 5 different topics, each a different day of the week. These were studio, photojournalism, history of photography, visual identity and post production. Each topic was ran by a different tutor and a well established artist within that given field. I particularly fell in love with the post production class, where I learnt valuable skills of Adobe creative suite, including retouching, digital manipulation and video editing. At the end of the course I received an award from the school and had my work on display at Arles Photography Festival. Although I found it daunting at first, it was an honour to meet people from different walks of life that appreciated my work. Ever since leaving school I have continued to improve on the techniques used within the Adobe programmes, and I am excited to use this skillset in a real work environment.
