Senior Designer

Steel London

Dec 2012 - Jul 2016
  • Designing for award winning Steel London, a digital marketing agency. Lead designer on the Debenhams account. Creating beautiful, functional, responsive email design, also front end web design, digital ads, banners and social media campaigns. I was senior creative managing the team producing UK, Irish and international email design for Debenhams which included their retail, finance and insurance sectors. Designs for Debenhams retail and beauty brands include; Dior, YSL, Benefit, Bareminerals, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Urban Decay, Elizabeth Arden and more. Other brands I worked on at Steel London included TalkTalk, Greggs, Capital & Counties Properties PLC (Capco) owners of Covent Garden, NBC Universal and Virgin Wines. Part of my role included quality assurance, art directing and supervising. I also worked on a team to develop email modules and templated structures for Debenhams.


Digital Designer

  • Worked closely with the Creative Director and e-commerce team. My key responsibilities were ensuring the website reflected all current trading activity. Designing all digital branding & marketing material. Producing weekly emails in line with marketing and trading calendars, creating new templates where necessary. Liaising closely with colleagues from different departments (merchandising, visual merchandising, buyers, design) to ensure consistency and the best response from briefs. Providing specialist digital design for all new projects such as homepage, basket and checkout page redesigns and personalised cards. Monitoring competitors to ensure that Paperchase remained innovative, aspirational and the market leader. Planning and implementing marketing strategies for Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter & the Paperchase blog. Organising any large photo shoots (e.g. Christmas 2012) which included sourcing locations and photographers, planning each shot and selecting products. Art directing and photography on small shoots for the website. Affiliate banners and selected press advertising.

  • Hub offers Application Development, Digital Production and Strategy, and Web Design and Development. My role as Head of Design included front end web design, basic programming, e-shots, print and branding. Also involved overseeing new projects from start to launch, supervision of online marketing and promotional graphics on twitter, blogs and Facebook. Managing a small team supervising and briefing them in design, marketing and online promotions. Worked with the developers and programmers in the team as well as Freelancers to ensure projects were successfully completed. Clients included; Nexus PR, Timebased Events, Helen Bamber Foundation, Dairy Farming and Zolfo Cooper.

  • An online furniture company - ranked previously in The Sunday Times Fast Track 100. Responsibilities were online visual merchandising, content management, graphic and catalogue design. I also implemented search engine optimisation and helped with management of the pay-per-click accounts. In addition I also directed several photo shoots.
