About me
I am a pro-active, passionate and creative individual seeking a graduate employment opportunity. I have just concluded my undergraduate studies at the University of Sussex where I achieved a first class honours degree in Marketing and Management. I have left university feeling ready to embark on the first steps of my career, which I foresee being in the digital marketing sector.

    • During my placement year I fulfilled a position in the Aftersales department as an E-Commerce Assistant for both the BMW & MINI UK brands. This experience allowed me to develop both my business knowledge and personal capabilities in multiple areas. • Initial responsibilities included the management of operations, budget and marketing of the national online stores for all BMW & MINI UK Aftersales products. The fundamental objective in this role was to achieve an annual sales target. I entered the role at a stage where the department were significantly behind the previous year’s traffic volume and target spend. My manager and I drove a social media marketing focused strategy to generate increased traffic into the online store which would ultimately drive improved sales. We achieved our target with two weeks to spare and at year end we exceeded it considerably. One campaign in particular that can be attributed to such success was the Black Friday campaign that I personally planned and implemented, it created three weeks of average revenue in four days. • I also had the opportunity to be involved in the development and implementation of a global BMW Aftersales e-commerce platform for the UK market during my time in the role. My involvement in this project gave me an in depth exposure to the role of a project manager. In particular, the challenges of monitoring and influencing the performance of other business areas for which I did not have direct control, in addition to exposure to the legal, compliance and purchasing departments. This experience also enabled me to enhance my planning and organisational skills whilst working within a multi-national team environment. • In addition to the core responsibilities of the role, I also actively engaged in the planning and execution of a number of key workshops and meetings during my time on placement. Including organising a day trip to the UK MINI manufacturing plant in Oxford and an Aftersales departmental monthly meeting. The most notable example being my involvement in the organisation of and presentation to 300+ colleagues at the quarterly BMW & MINI UK business briefing. These events afforded me the opportunity to practice and improve my presentational skills in terms of both content and delivery.

    • I studied an array of modules during my time at university that has provided me with a valuable foundation of knowledge across numerous business disciplines. Initially, this included areas such as business law, accounting and project management. Latterly, my studies predominantly focused on areas of marketing such as digital and services marketing, marketing strategy, and marketing communications. • It has been a reoccurring theme in my academic results that where I possess a particular passion for a subject, my results are often consequently higher. My following module results reflect this; services marketing (75%), digital marketing (70%). marketing strategy (80%), marketing communications (75%) and project management (77%). • In my final term I undertook a research project, where I produced a dissertation which consisted of an investigation into the levels of trust Generations X and Y have towards differing social media marketing communications. I saw this as an opportunity to explore a subject area for which I am passionate. I found the process thoroughly enjoyable and this was ultimately reflected in the grade (74%). • My time at university has been invaluable and has allowed me to develop transferable skills that included interpersonal and communication, research methods and the ability to work productively both with others and individually. I have now left university ready to embark on the first steps of my career, which I foresee being in the digital marketing sector.
