I regularly write vintage lifestyle and fashion related articles for fleamarketinsiders.com and review flea markets for fleamapket.com. I write two lifestyle/event articles a month for the Metropole website. My role as a freelance writer requires me to pitch feature ideas, write engaging SEO-friendly content and work to a strict deadline.
My main duties included: arranging and promoting the international schools, communicating with lecturers and prospective students, sending out MailChimp emails, arranging the social program, writing content for the website and promotional materials, promoting courses through direct and social media marketing and updating social media accounts.
During my time at August Media, I assisted with a number of projects across the editorial and design department for various different brands that they work with My main duties included: content writing, conducting interviews, transcribing interviews, proofreading, inputting data, researching for pitches and content ideas, subbing layouts and sourcing PA/agent contact information.
This was originally an unpaid 3-week placement at Publicis Blueprint, however, in my second week I was offered the opportunity to stay for an extra month and be paid for my work. Whilst at Publicis Blueprint, I helped out with a number of projects across the editorial and design department for O2 Magazine and the Gatwick Shopping and Eating Guide. My main duties included: content writing, transcribing interviews, proofreading, inputting data, researching, subbing layouts, updating social media, selecting products to appear in a gift guide and writing a blog.
My time at university helped me to acquire the appropriate skills and knowledge to excel in my chosen industry. Group projects taught me strong leadership and communication skills. Whilst individual projects taught me how to stay motivated, challenge myself and work to the best of my ability. For my Final Major Project I decided to produce a new magazine title. I interviewed people to feature in my magazine, wrote features, commissioned illustrators and worked to deadlines in order to ensure that my magazine was of the upmost quality. This project received a 2:1 grade, and I am pleased to say I graduated overall with a Second Class Honors in the First Division.
