As the commercial photographer for ZEISS I had to communicate with the client in order to interpret the brief and provide a creative response to their business needs. Working to the tight timeline, I effectively delivered the photographic assignment on time, and within budget. The project provided a challenge, as a variety of creative solutions were required during the shoot.
I was commissioned for a research and development brief, to put together a creative film proposal for Entelechy Arts working with The Albany in Deptford based around the brief, ‘Flying/Falling’. This project required workshop preparation, budget planning and meetings with the clients at regular intervals throughout the project.
The main body of my work included research for a new documentary series about technology and society. This involved producing research summaries, presenting ideas and developing pitches. Outside of this core work, I engaged with archive research, film logging and transcribing. A great deal of organisational skills were required for this job as various projects would come into the business throughout the day which would require research based work immediately.
As an intern at BBC Storyville I helped with the daily running of the office: keeping track of emails and film submissions, watching possible acquisitions and assisting the executive producer with tasks. I was the researcher on one of their main upcoming projects, providing background information and contacts to help with production. I attended meetings with filmmakers, editors and commissioning executives. I was also the PA to the commissioning editor, organising his diary and schedule for an important festival in New York.
As an intern at P.G Film & Commercial, I was the runner on location and studio shoots, helping with the lighting and camera set up. In addition, I was the Digital Image Technician (DIT) on various location shoots, editing the media on set for client viewing and handling media security. I prepared, edited and managed online projects, using a variety of software. I have researched a variety of projects, some of which archive footage have been required, to fulfill the client’s brief.
