About me
Elspeth is a senior conceptual designer whose aim is to bring your ideas to life – no matter the state, size or sensibility. She does this by using her childlike enthusiasm (asks many questions) and unrestrained imagination (has many ideas) to get under the skin of a brief and create something that elevates, and is authentic to your original thought. Growing up with a father who is blind and told bedtime stories that made her squeal like a mandrake gave her an unrestrained imagination, a fear of the dark and the ability to look at the world from a very different and descriptive perspective. As a result, she puts huge value in copywriting and combined with intriguing design knows that this is the way to build a compelling brand story that people love and trust. She finds strength in being unique and looks for ways to inject it into her design. Her most recent role was at a data-led creative agency where she learnt to translate data into insights and insights into great design that had both integrity and a sense of fun. She knows firsthand that to engage with a customer – you must first understand what drives them and then provide value (or make them smile!) With a main focus on graphic design, art direction and brand development, Elspeth creates both printed and digital matter whilst analysing the purpose and reach of everything she creates (definitely not producing content for contents’ sake) with an enduringly cheerful manner. She loves finding a balance of colour, typography and imagery that immediately sparks joy and understanding. She is particularly passionate in the FemTech and Tech for Good space and is available for commissions, collaborations and consultancy, specialising in graphic design, creative direction, illustration, branding and visual identity design and development.

  • Mama Bird
Mama BirdMama Bird is one-off care for new mothers – a service set up to offer a moment of freedom or an extra pair of hands during the messy & magical first 6 months of motherhood. They are creating a space that doesn't force new mothers to be just 'mothers' by offering a trustworthy service that allows mums to feel like themselves again. For an hour or an afternoon, Mama Bird gives you your time back – have a nap, get your nails done, meet a friend for a wine – do whatever it takes to recharge your ba
  • Mind&Matter
Mind&MatterA friend approached me to help design the identity for his new venture – Mind&Matter Consulting. With experience as an organisational consultant, COO, transformational coach, and change management advisor, he understood that by combining the psychological and the structural effects of change, the results are better and last longer. The conceptual approach I took was looking at how change is a journey that constantly affects everyone in a different way. I wanted to create fluidity within the log
  • Virgin Voyages
Virgin VoyagesEmily and I were the creative team in charge of crafting a journey for an experience that had never happened before on a ship that hadn't yet been built and was totally different from anything, ever. Using data and tech to create custom communications that gamify and reward, our goal was to make admin a breeze and prepare the sailors for anything. We dialed down the stress and up the good stuff, inspiring them to customize and create a dream holiday they'd never forget.

I've either chosen the worst or best time to go freelance. Whilst there is a lot of uncertainty and fear, there is also an exciting amount of community and potential and I believe that with this newfound abundance of time, interesting things will happen. So while I have a few projects on the go, I’m always on the lookout for interesting and fun situations.
