About me

Emily Ash Powell is a creative with a brain full of big ideas who finds it easier to write bios like this one in the third person. As a senior copywriter, she loves working with DTC startups with big missions and great personalities – especially if they're subscription. She's written words people who change the world of pet food (tails.com), pet care (DogBuddy, now Rover.com), finance (Circle) and skincare (Skin + Me). She also likes big brands (and she cannot lie). At Proximity London, she wrote words and came up with ideas for brilliant clients like IKEA, Virgin Voyages, Disney, John Lewis, Marvel, Virgin Holidays, ASDA, P&G, Bacardi, Volkswagen and more. She re-reads the words she writes back to herself in a range of accents (usually Scottish), to make sure they make sense in a voice that's not her own. Emily also writes words for a few other places too, like Refinery29, The Huffington Post and Stylist Magazine.   Virgin VoyagesEmily and I were the creative team in charge of crafting a journey for an experience that had never happened before on a ship that hadn't yet been built and was totally different from anything, ever. Using data and tech to create custom communications that gamify and reward, our goal was to make admin a breeze and prepare the sailors for anything. We dialed down the stress and up the good stuff, inspiring them to customize and create a dream holiday they'd never forget.
