About me
Hello,
My name is Emily. Friends and Colleagues usually call me Em. I am an American living in London.
I have extensive experience in event planning and management, ranging from tradeshows, workshops, global innovation sessions to statewide fundraising events for a nonprofit. Additionally, for the past 8 years, I have been working in market research, brand strategy, and innovation. My responsibilities included working on a range of experiential projects, both for the clients and consumers, developing products, services and communication strategies for brands worldwide. These brands range from companies such as The Coca-Cola Company, Outdoor Industry Association, McDonald's, Mastercard, Johnson&Johnson, Pernod Ricard, VF Corporation, Nestle, Nestle Waters North America, just to name a few. These projects used a variety of digital tools including an app my former employer developed called OverTheShoulder, as well as a laundry list of other consumer insight mining tools, some of which required the use of analytic tools developed by Google and Ramius, Focus Vision, etc.
This past year, I decided to take a sabbatical from corporate consulting to pursue a Master of Science in Digital Anthropology at University College London. Here, I furthered my understanding of humans in the digital realm. My curriculum focused on virtual worlds, games, big data, artificial intelligence, social media, among many other things. I took advantage of the vast number of workshops and seminars available which included seminars on topics like Citizen Science, family-support groups, and research/methods when working with youth. While in London I was part of conferences on topics such as AI, automation and the future of learning, and how-to sessions for building API on IBM's Watson. While there is still so much to learn and the industry continues to evolve almost daily, I am committed to staying on the forefront of what consumers need, want and love, and I would love the chance to work with a company who is also committed to staying ahead of the market.
