As pedestrians, we also want all of these attributes to be applied to those inevitable grey and drizzly days - something that we Brits especially endure a frequent battle with. We’ve all suffered the awkward fumble of trying to clutch a snapped umbrella over our face as the rain defiantly slaps against us, and it just isn’t right. Let’s start a revolution. Since 1979, Hackett London has been a leading purveyor of quintessential British style. We’re proud of our heritage and the hard work that has gone into establishing our name and we wanted to invite another player into the mix, a player who shares our values for beautifully crafted products that can last a lifetime. And so Hackett X Fox Umbrellas came to be. With a fascinating history dating back to the reign of Queen Victoria and clientele stretching from the Royal Family to John F. Kennedy, Fox Umbrellas are a (gale) force to be reckoned with. Hackett’s partnership with Fox Umbrellas drills deep into the foundations of both our brands’ core principles. The products crafted through this partnership needed to be unique with meticulous attention to detail. Fox Umbrellas’ skilled and long-standing workers follow many of the same 120 steps that they did on their first day of business in 1868, creating each umbrella by hand and therefore ensuring that no two are ever the same. Fear not, as much as we would relish the opportunity to divulge all 120 intricate stages that go into realising each item, words such as ribs, runner, eyeletting and gores unsurprisingly may not translate to the majority of people reading this. Instead, we will simply delight you with the knowledge that each and every one of the umbrellas we bring you through this partnership has been engineered with passion, care, and exhaustive attention to detail.
