This is a varied role and involves; pricing new stock, serving and advising customers and cashing up at end of day. It also involves reception duties such as answering the phone and admin work such as creating database sheets. This job requires me to manage a range of multiple tasks, to be attentive to detail, dress presentably and to be considerate towards the customers.
Working as a fashion intern/ assistant for an MA Central Saint Martins student. Adapting my skills in this environment required me to be reliable, flexible and to use my own initiative when it came to travelling and making on-the spot decisions. I believe this job demonstrated my ability to follow instructions and deliver a brief on time.
This work was on a casual basis, assisting the gallery with their private views and regular events. Responsibilities involved working at the reception welcoming visitors and checking that their names are on the guestlist. It also involved working on the gallery floor invigilating the exhibitions and ensuring that the work was protected from any potential damage.
This is an on-going project assisting the artist James Bridle with the ‘Right to Flight’ commission at the Multi-Story complex in Peckham. Throughout this project I have helped with a range of tasks involved for example; learning to fly the balloon that is part of the commission. I have also been involved in helping with other events that are also being held as part of the Bold Tendencies Summer Project. I have gained experience of working collaboratively as part of an arts event program and I have developed an understanding of the type of organisation involved in this type of project.
General management of the studio on a day-to-day basis included; arranging bookings and meeting clients, organising the studio equipment, such as lighting and cameras, I also edited videos using ‘Final-Cut Pro’. This required knowledge of the equipment and an ability to manage time effectively.
