I'm 23, recently graduated with a 2:1 in Fine Art Critical Practice and want to be busy again. I thrive on being busy and feel I'm not getting my kicks out of the freelance work I've currently been doing. Working as a Barista at a popular cafe in a well respected area of Brighton was a great opportunity for a change of pace to my previous positions. The Flour Bakery offered exquisite service and high-end produce from bagged coffee, a variety of bread and delicious treats. While working as a Barista I also assisted my manager with his extra workload. The store was newly opened so impeccable standards were a must. I started part time and moved to full time after finishing University. My role was anything from taking food orders, keeping fluid communication with the main bakery, ordering and managing stock and updating the area manager on best selling products, wastage and end of day banking.

The Great Eastern is a whiskey specialist bar in the North Lanes of Brighton. I worked here for nearly 2 years and have enjoyed immersing myself in the history and taste of whiskey. We’d offer a wide range of whiskeys from Japanese to Scotch to Bourbons alongside limited addition craft beers. I started out at the Great Eastern as a bartender and was promoted to Supervisor within a few months. My role at The Great Eastern was diverse. I worked with a constant rotation of stock, maintained the cellar along with its equipment, and submitted daily banking. I also created new cocktails and waitressed in my spare time. I have thrived in my time there and have built relationships with regular customers while inviting the new. The staff members at this pub are whiskey specialists and it has been a pleasure working alongside them.
