With 10 years' experience working as a journalist on market-leading youth, health & wellbeing and food magazines and websites, in 2015 I turned my hand to copywriting – helping brands such as Yeo Valley, Riverford and Dorset Cereals communicate effectively with their customers. At the beginning of 2017 – after taking a couple of months out to travel – I went freelance. I now spend my days writing, editing, proofreading, and putting my branding and marketing skills to good use. I'm taking on new clients at the moment so if you think I might be able to help, send me a message or email. I'm a natural storyteller with plenty to share. In various past lives, I wrote the horoscopes for one of the UK's biggest teen magazines, rubbed shoulders with celebrity chefs while researching a live TV food programme, and was once called 'a very enterprising editor' by best-selling author Jacqueline Wilson (I was 12).Locked Pro Plan feature
I'm currently a regular freelance writer and sub-editor at Mastered, a startup in east London. Mastered makes online courses run by leading fashion industry professionals that are carefully designed to nuture emerging talent. I wrote and edited learning materials across all six of its 2017 programs – Styling, Hair, Makeup, Accessories, Photography and Art Direction. I'm now working on streamlining the copy for the forthcoming 2018 programs.
I'm currently available for freelance feature writing, copywriting, sub-editing and proofreading, both remotely and in-house. Clients include: Mastered, Belvoir Fruit Farms, Fortnum & Mason, Farer Watches, Healthy For Men magazine, HumanKIND, weareone: collective and Yeo Valley.
I was a creative copywriter at Big Fish, a design consultancy in Chelsea. As lead writer for Yeo Valley, I wrote emailers communicating brand messages to a database of over 800K consumers. I also updated web copy, wrote engaging words to go on-pack across the product range, and put together press and trade ads for print and online. When I wasn't working on Yeo, I wrote copy for other brands including Riverford, Dorset Cereals, Biscuiteers, Belvoir Fruit Farms and Tyrrells crisps, as well as helping develop tone of voice for new brands and product launches.
I was a sub-editor across Sainsbury's magazine and sainsburysmagazine.co.uk. I also contributed travel features and hotel reviews to the magazine.
I sub-edited Healthy magazine – the customer magazine for Holland & Barrett stores – and its little brother publication, Healthy For Men.
I sub-edited the UK's number one teen magazine (at the time), Sugar, and its accompanying LadMag supplement. I also contributed stories to Sugarscape.com and wrote the monthly horoscopes in the magazine.
I began my career as a sub-editor on the lifestyle title, At Home.
I'm currently studying part-time in the evenings for my Master's degree.
