About me
Textiles is about the innovation and journey you go on as a designer. It's making something that you can be proud of whilst constantly looking for what can be done next. As a soon to be graduate Textile Designer specialising in embroidery I have always found myself drawn to working in mixed media ways and playing with new materials. My determination allows me to overcome problems I may encounter, as well as pushing myself to the limit. Currently seeking placement or employment opportunities with an interest in Interiors, Homewares and Accessories or any new challenge!
Projects
  • Geometric Jigsaw
Geometric JigsawWith technology becoming more important in our everyday lives, we are used to seeing it function and how it aids our day to day. However it’s the inside, which is what gives it purpose and makes it work how we want. The components inside are the integral part of the technology that is often forgotten. These complex parts have been designed and made by someone who knew they wouldn’t be seen, and it didn’t matter what they looked like as long as they did their job. They are filled with order, a sense of control, repeat, unusual shapes and a mix of materials. The beauty inside needs to be appreciated, in a way that no one thought they ever could be. This project explores the unusual shapes and mix of materials featured in circuitry.
  • Tactile Articulations
Tactile ArticulationsProject originated from a trend for Spring/Summer 17 called ‘Pause’. It is centred on functionality, simplicity and luxury, which focus on how objects are starting to take on human qualities and how the artificial begins to feel natural. The collection provides a modern take on the materials that could be used to make jewellery. Materials used are a variety of silicone, metal, resin and printed tracing paper.
  • Romo - Enchanted Escape
Romo - Enchanted EscapeHigh end interiors company Romo set a brief to produce a collection of  innovative fabrics to launch. Enchanted Escape was the title, and inspiration was taken from english florals. This was a group project with combination of printers and embroiderers. The images below show my work created for the project, a mixture of embroideries, prints and trimmings, and as a result I was offered a 2 week placement with them.
