My role as a Student Brand Manager has given me an insight into working with a global and highly successful company. My role involved managing, motivating and driving sales with a team of four employees. I was chosen as 1 in 50 in the UK to represent my University of 33,000 students so know what it means to represent a brand and market myself within a large company
Late last year I was chosen for an internship with Enchanted Parks, an outdoor Arts and Theatre event. During my internship I was in charge of designing, making and fitting costumes for a cast of 40 actors, as well as working as a makeup artist on sight. This was a highly demanding role but has given me the confidence to know I can hold my own in the fashion industry and work to a brief whilst honing my own creativity.
My role within SEPE is to work with hostesses to create different looks weekly for a nightclub environment. For this role I source my own materials, cosmetics and costumes to constantly keep up with the latest trends and adapt to changing employee needs. My experience with SEPE has equipped me for working long and unsocial hours and working to a tight hourly deadline.
Currently at London School of Makeup completing an IMA in Creative Makeup whilst working freelance to earn money and build a portfolio. Working freelance has allowed me to understand my craft fully and market myself to clients and employers. It has also played an important part in widening my knowledge of the fashion industry and ensuring my work is relevant and on trend.
Working as a Christmas temp in the beauty industry has widen my knowledge of designer and luxury goods and selling to a fashionable market.
